Our cafe is openig up for the season on Wednesday the 31st of August.
We will have fresh scones and muffins as well as a new changing daily menu.
The cafe will be open from 10.00am toll 4.30pm with food avaliable from 10.00 till 3.30pm

LOCAL BREWERY READY TO BE TAKEN TO THE NEXT LEVEL

The owners of Nelson's Founders Brewery are moving on after eleven successful years of brewing and trade, with the business officially for sale. Owners, Carol and John Duncan see this as a positive move forward for themselves and their family, and feel that it is the right time for someone to carry on what they have successfully established. The foundations have been laid, and the business is ready and waiting for someone to take it to the next level.

With a history of over 160 years brewing in the Nelson Region, Founders Brewery has been very much a family affair since it began operation in 1999. John and Carol say it’s been a privilege to have been able to work together, share a common goal and grow together with Founders Heritage Park. “We have had a great time and are so proud of what we have achieved, but now we feel the business is ready to be taken to next stage and for someone else to put their stamp on it.”

With small beginnings, but a clear vision of where it was to go, Founders Brewery has been developed into a successful, and unique business, recipient of over 50 International Beer Awards, including Champion Small Brewery 2002 & 2005 AIBA, Champion Small Beer, several ‘Best In Class’ trophies and numerous environmental and innovation awards.

This is a rare and exciting opportunity for someone to develop the brewery's thriving presence in the local Nelson market, and continue the success that it has had in Wellington and other parts of the country. There still remain untapped regions, such as Auckland, which have huge potential, as does the export market.

Founders Brewery has maintained a high standard of integrity, and commitment to its original vision over the years, producing premium certified organic beers, utilising the technologies of today to match the traditions of yesteryear. March Fest is on next Saturday the 26th of March and Founders will be releasing a new beer called Suprise Me AKA AK 4.7 a hoppy Autumn ale, loaded with 6 different hops, and armed with plenty of malt character and Hop bitterness. 4.7%
